Space junk map tracks 200 ‘ticking time bombs’ [ad_1]

Thousands of human-made objects orbit earth and nearly all of them not work. There’s a threat this house particles may collide with functioning satellites, which offer very important companies like GPS and climate warnings.

To observe and predict its behaviour, Prof Moriba Jah and his colleagues constructed AstriaGraph – a close to real-time map of the place every object is positioned in house. He explains that the system is monitoring round 200 ‘super-spreaders’ – giant rocket our bodies which have the potential to interrupt into hundreds of items.
