Irish animation studio Cartoon Saloon has earned a fifth Oscar nomination for its newest movie Wolfwalkers.
The studio makes use of a mixture of hand-drawn animations and pc graphic methods in its movies.
Tom Moore is co-founder of the Kilkenny-based operation that’s now thought of a key participant on the animation world stage.
His newest movie, Wolfwalkers, has been nominated for a greatest animation Oscar alongside the likes of Pixar’s Soul.
Covid-19 journey restrictions means the Cartoon Saloon workforce will probably be attending Sunday’s ceremony remotely.
Tomm Moore stated: “The Oscars are coming to Kilkenny, they’re setting up an outside broadcast for us in front of Kilkenny Castle, so we’ll be standing there from about 2am onwards.
“It’s at all times thrilling to be a part of such an enormous occasion, the trick is to take it moderately evenly and revel in it reasonably than take it too critically.”
He added: “Its at all times to arduous to beat Disney and Pixar, however I don’t mind being the underdog.”
