Maharashtra Home minister Anil Deshmukh on Monday resigned from the publish after the Bombay High Court ordered a CBI probe into corruption expenses levelled towards him. The Bombay High earlier right this moment ordered a CBI probe into the graft expenses towards him by former Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh. “Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has resigned,” NCP minister Nawab Malik mentioned. He added that Deshmukh met NCP chief Sharad Pawar quickly after the Bombay HC’s order and supplied to resign.

Last month, former Mumbai Police chief Param Bir Singh set off a significant row when he alleged that Deshmukh had requested suspended Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vaze, who has been arrested within the SUV case and is in NIA custody, to gather Rs 100 crore from Mumbai’s eating places, bars and hookah bars. 

Singh, who was transferred to the low-key Home Guards on March 17 following the arrest of Vaze within the Antilia case, in a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had claimed that he was made a scapegoat. In the eight-page letter, Singh had alleged that Deshmukh used to name cops to his official residence and provides them a “collection target” from bars, eating places and different institutions.

Allegations of Singh towards Deshmukh and the Sachin Vaze episode have dented the picture of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) authorities within the state. Vaze was arrested by the NIA, which is probing the restoration of an explosives-laden car from outdoors the south Mumbai residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani final month and in addition the alleged homicide of businessman Mansukh Hiran, the purported proprietor of that SUV.
