Ireland’s deliberate summer tour to Fiji has been cancelled due to uncertainty brought on by the pandemic.

The IRFU says latest developments imply the deliberate tour, scheduled to be held in July, is “no longer viable”.

The governing physique stays hopeful of arranging various Test matches for the July worldwide window.

“A great deal of effort has gone into the planning of the tour which was predicated on a safety first approach,” mentioned IRFU efficiency director David Nucifora.
