TOKYO: Honda Motor Co will suspend three plants in Japan as many as six days in May due to a chip shortage, a spokesman mentioned on Wednesday.
Honda will suspend two plants in Saitama Prefecture for six days and its Suzuka plant in Mie Prefecture for 5 days, he mentioned. The output minimize was reported earlier by Kyodo.
The suspension is due to a chip shortage brought on by numerous components, he added. He declined to define the quantity or fashions of autos affected however mentioned that the corporate will fastidiously look at the state of affairs for manufacturing following June.
