‘Don’t call us posh’: Croquet boom in lockdown

Forget tea on the garden, pressed slacks and the genteel clacking of balls, croquet is having fun with a contemporary comeback.

As the brand new season begins, Chichester and Fishbourne Croquet Club say they’ve been inundated with requests for membership over the past 12 months, and wish to entice youthful gamers.

There are about 200 golf equipment in the UK and curiosity in the game is rising, resulting in new strategies and extra aggressive play turning into the norm.

It follows a lockdown boom in the gross sales of backyard croquet units.
